Another lesson in "don't trust strangers offering free videos of naughty ladies": A fake video message is doing the rounds, posing as a message on Facebook.

"The attack begins when the user is sent an email signed as a Facebook message with headlines such as 'dancing girl drunk in the pub' and 'super beautiful girl dancing'. The email then offers a link which appears to be from Facebook.

On clicking the link, users are directed to a third-party site designed to look like Facebook. The page loads what appears to be a video of a woman dancing, and then attempts to download an executable file under the name 'Adobe_Player11'."

YouTube blocks music videos to UK viewers

The UK's Performing Rights Society have apparently made unreasonable demands to YouTube regarding the viewing of music videos by UK users, so YouTube are cutting off a crapload of music videos from British audiences. Here's the story from the BBC, and here's YouTube's take on it.

Cisco to buy "Flip" makers Pure Digital?

Cisco are rumoured to be eyeing up their fellow Californians, Flip Video makers Pure Digital Technologies. Pure Digital were quite happily hanging around in relative obscurity until the Flip series shot them kicking and screaming into the spotlight, so it's not surprising that we're seeing the big guns eagerly dig their hands into their pockets.
